Happy Birthday Jenny!

Hope you are having a wonderful day Jenny! What a great plan to be a vacation on your birthday! Hope Doug is waiting on you hand and foot today. :) It was so nice to see you on my trip to San Antonio. Hope to make that an annual trip, at least while there are still people I know (and like) there. We are leaving for Minnesota today, but I will try and call you Jenny. Happy Birthday!!! (Sorry I don't have any cute pictures of us to add. They are on my old computer and I don't know how to get them off.)

Grrrrr!

My kids are driving me crazy!!! No one is listening to me and they are running around like complete animals! I am trying to get us to church but Alex keeps messing up her hair and Ryan is refusing to put his shoes on. Okay, now that I have complained a little, I feel better and can maybe go and enjoy church.

Fun in K.C.

The kids and I just returned from visiting my sister and her husbanc in Kansas City. We had such a great time. My mom drove down with us so I didn't have to do all the driving/child care by myself. We spent time at The Plaza, which is such an amazing shopping area. The kids weren't really into shopping that day, but I did manage to hit some of my favorite stores like Banana Republic, Gymboree, and Barnes and Noble (Oh how I miss that store. Ryan and I used to spend hours there when he was little). That night for dinner we hit P.F. Chang's. It was sooooo good! The kids even loved it and they are not usually into Chinese type food. We then spend most of Thursday at Oceans of Fun (a big waterpark). Everyone had a blast, but it was really hot. My sister was a real trooper hanging with us even though she is pregnant and the heat was bothering her a little. Thanks so much Shannon and Craig for letting us crash at your house. The kids has so much fun hanging out with you both and loved playing with your dog. Plan on us doing this again soon!

Pool and Fireworks

Does it get any better than this? Going to the pool on a summer day then lighting off fireworks in the evening. Sounds like a pretty good day to me. From the looks of the pictures, I think everyone else agreed, too.

Summer BBQ

I'm not sure if there is anything better than a summer BBQ, especially when fireworks are involved, but more on fireworks later. Sunday night, we hosted a BBQ at our house for Jim's brother, his wife and their 3 kids (Josh 6, Kate almost 3, Abby almost 1). Also joining us were my parents, Jim's dad and stepmom, and Jim's other brother and his fiancee. The neighbor on the side of us and behind us thought this sounded fun so they BBQed out as well. Since there are no fences separating our yard, 10 kids had the run of the yards. We put up our slip-n-slide and baby pool and the neighbor put up the Bonzi falls. Needless to say, everyone had a blast. We ended the evening by lighting off fireworks. It was a very fun, but late, day. Ryan said when I was putting him to bed at 10:50pm (the lasted he has ever stayed up), that, "I feel like I am going to throw up I'm so tired. Poor kid! But a good time was had by all and no one got sick.

Happy (Belated) Father's Day

I thought I would share with you Jim's belated Father's Day present. We got him a new Weber grill. He actually went out and bought it, but it's the thought that counts, right? We got it just in time because Jim's brother, his wife and their 3 kids are in town for the 4th. We are having a big BBQ tonight with all of them, plus my parents and Jim's dad and stepmom. We will definately need the bigger grill for all of those hamburgers and hotdogs. Stay tuned for pictures of the firecrackers these pyros light off. I keep reminding Jim how important hands are to a surgeon, but I think it's falling on deaf ears (probably from all the fireworks). It should be an interesting night.
