4th of July Weekend Recap

We had a wonderful, but very busy, 4th of July weekend. Jim's brother, sister-in-law, and their 3 kids were in town starting on Friday. Since the kids wanted to be together all the time and since none of us wanted to be stuck in a house with 5 kids seven and under, we were on the go all the time. Here are the highlights...
*Swimming at the club on Friday and some trips to the fireworks stands.

*Golf tournament for Jim's work on Saturday (a total blast, but got sooo sunburnt)
*Texas Hold 'Em tournament at our house on Saturday night for adults only. Stayed up waaay too late!
*BBQ at our house Sunday evening for 20 or so adults and 15 kids. Crazy, but so much fun! We had tons of food and beverages and played yard games. Has anyone else played ladder ball before (it goes by several names)? It is so much fun! It is competitive, but easy enough for everyone to play. We let off a ton of fireworks that night. Looked like a war zone in front of our house. Good times.

*Monday is lost to me. For the life of me I can't remember what we did. Must not have been too important.
*Tuesday went to the pool again with the cousins. (They left that afternoon)

4th of July
*Took the kids to the driving range to practice with their new golf clubs. Their clubs are so stinkin' cute!
*Hit the pool for a couple of hours then took everyone home and napped Ryan and Alex. Boy did they need it. They both slept for over 2 hours and would have slept longer but I had to wake them.
*Went to our friend's house for another BBQ. More good food, drinks, and games. Diet started Thursday. :)
*We headed to the club for their annual fireworks show. They do such a fantastic job! The show was beautiful! We came home and lit off a few more fireworks and then it was off to bed, finally, at 11 pm! That is the latest my kids have ever been up (they are in bed by 7-7:30 almost every night). They survived really well and Alex even slept until 8:45 this morning.

Today was a day of catch up- laundry, cleaning, groceries, going to the gym, etc. I am feeling a little worn out, but it is well worth it. We had s0 many wonderful times this last week, hanging out with family and friends. We are truly blessed!
