Trick or Treat!

**Pictures won't post. Will keep trying!**

What fun the kids had on Halloween! We decided to go out a little early (6:00) because it was a tad chilly out and I knew Alex wouldn't last very long. They had a great time and got lots of candy. They were so excited by the houses that gave out full sized candy bars, small bags of chips, and envelopes of hot chocolate. But I think the most fun was had by handing out the candy to everyone else. Ryan sat there for an hour with the bowl of candy, telling all the kids to take 2 or 3. It was pretty cute. Alex slept through most of the trick or treaters since I put her to bed when we got home. Thank goodness for the sound machine! Hope everyone had a fun and safe night. I know I will have to throw out the candy tomorrow (not for the kids' sake, but for my waist line's) so I will enjoy some more tonight! :)
By the way, Ryan was a Mystic Force Power Ranger and Alex was Elmo.

Snow in mid October

This is what we woke up to this a.m. Not much, but still, snow in the middle of October? What the heck!?! It was really cold today (42 degress) and windy. Not much fun, but by Friday, it is supposed to be back in the upper 60's (I know, you Texas girls, that still sounds cold). They say it may rain on Saturday, which would stink because Jim and I are going with friends to the Nebraska/Texas football game in Lincoln. Maybe cold would be good. We know those Texas boys can't handle the cold! :)

A "Frightful" Night

Last night we went to an adults only Halloween Party. It was so much fun! I have not been to a costume party in so long. It always amazes me how creative some people are. Jim and I wanted to dress alike, so we went as pirates, along with about 7 other people. Very popular costume this year. Oh well, it was still a blast. We were all thinking we were looking pretty cute, so about 10 of us went to a bar after the party. I think the college students thought we had lost our minds, but we really didn't care. If they only knew how happy we all were to have babysitters that night, they would have thought twice about staring at us. Of course we got to bed super late (1:30 am- that's soooo late for us) and paid for it today. I let Jim sleep in this a.m. and he let me nap this afternoon. Even though we were exhusted today, it was worth it.

Harvest Moon Farms

Jim and I took the kids this morning to a local pumpkin patch. The kids and I went last year but didn't go down to the corn maze or the actual pumpkim patch. It was so much fun. It was the perfect fall day; a little chilly, but not too bad, and bright blue skies. The kids had so much fun. It was so nice to do something as a family. Jim has been so busy and then with Jim and I gone to Notre Dame last weekend, we haven't spend much quality time together lately. We are having some people over for the Nebraska game tonight and then are going over to some friends for an adult only Halloween party. It should be fun. Jim and I are going as pirates. I will post some pics tomorrow.

Finished!

I finally finished the bathroom. Actually it wasn't too bad. I think it makes a HUGE difference. I'm very glad I did it. Now it wil look nice for when Jim's mom comes to watch the kids over Thanksgiving.

What fun!

Today on a whim, I decided to paint my basement bathroom. I'm not sure why, but I did. Maybe it is because every room (except the theater room) is the same color the builder used when he painted. It is not a bad color, I'm just tired of it. I guess our weekend trip (more to come on that later) revived me enough to start this project. The nice thing about it is that we don't use that bathroom alot unless we have company over. I can leave the mess up and it's not in our way. I will post some pictures when it is complete. For now, you just get to look at the mess. :)
