A Night at GOLD
Saturday night we attended GOLD, the annual auction/dinner for the Catholic Jr/Sr. High School in town. It is always a fun time. Who doesn't enjoy getting all dressed up and having a date night with their spouse? This was the 13th year they have held this and it gets better every year. This was only our 3rd year attending (since we were in Texas and Omaha before that). I really enjoyed this year because I helped my good friend Sami with setting up the Silent Auction and contributed a centerpiece. Each year 50 or so people donate a centerpiece for the auction. This year's theme was Winter Ice so there was alot of blue, silver and white. There were some gorgeous ones and I was very pleased that the one my mom and I made actually sold. :) I purchases one as well and I love it. I am just itching to get out my Christmas decorations so I can display my new centerpiece. Hope you all have a wonderful Thanksgiving!
Gotta love it when guys wear tuxes. So handsome!

Christmas Card Preview
Sunday was an absolutely gorgeous day here. We decided it would be a great day to take the kids' pictures for Christmas cards. We did family ones last year but decided to just do the kids this year. Jim is a good photographer and knows our camera well, so he took the pictures. I am so excited! I think they turned out fantastic! On the card, he used Photo Shop to do some cool things with some of the pictures. You will have to wait till Christmas time to see the actual card, but I will give you a sneak preview of some of the shots we took.

Our week in Texas
I started on a big post about our week in Texas, but I just can't seem to find the time to document the entire week of happenings. We had a great time. Since several family members have requested to see some pictures, I will document the week with pictures. Hopefully this will stop me from feeling so guilty and overwhelmed and I can begin blogging on a regular basis again (I know, you've heard that one before.)
We met Jenny and 2 of her boys at a Pumpkin Patch. I was so nice to see Jenny and hang out with her again for awhile. I can't believe I didn't take any pictures of us together. What in the world?!? She has a few on her blog here and here if you want to see them.
The grandparents offered to watch the kids for the night so I could go with Jim to Austin. We had fun laying in bed and watching tv in the middle of the day. We then got dressed up and went to a wonderful seafood restaurant for dinner with some people. After dinner we hit a piano bar on 6th Street. It was a blast!
It was too cold to swim but the kids wanted to go over to the Yacht Club pool and beach anyways. We fed the ducks and look at the many animals there.
On Thursday I took the kids to San Antonio to visits friends. We had lunch at Chuy's with Jenny and Angie and my friend Tracy. It was delicious! How I missed Chuy''s!!! We then went to see Angie's new home. It is gorgeous! I am soooo happy for the Gordon's. They deserve it. After the tour, Tracy and the kids and I went to her new home. She is living in the neighborhood where I taught 4th grade and her kids are going to the same school I was at. One of her daughters is in 4th grade right now. It is fun to hear who is still there teaching. Ryan and Katie were babies together and good little buddies. It was fun to see them so big. Alex and Nathan were born 2 days apart. We moved when they were 8 months old so they didn't get to know each other as well, but they are pretty sweet with each other.
We visited the Austin Children's Museum. It is wonderful and full of so many neat exhibits.
We took a few family pictures Saturday morning before we left for the Nebraska/Texas game. We are not sure why Alex is making that face. :) Is is ever possible for everyone to look good at the same time?
Kids swimming at the Cap Rock pool. The first day was gorgeous weather, but the pool was freezing.

Poor Alex! She crashed as soon as we left the football game. Too many days of missing naps and late nights out. We had a great week in Texas and look forward to visiting again soon.
