Help Needed!

Okay, I needed some help/info from you West coast girls (and anyone else who has visited CA). Jim and I are planning on attending a golf camp at Poppy Creek Golf Club in Pebble Beach, CA. The hotel is located in Monterey, CA. We will be spending most of the time at the golf course, but will have a little time (and a car) to explore the Monterey area. Any suggestions? I have never been to CA, so I am so excited!

On a different note, my kids are crabby and tired today. This is what we ended up doing. I set each of them up in their rooms with a portable DVD player, movie, popcorn, and a drink. I know, wonderful parenting in action. All I know is that they needed some down time and I needed a break! :)

Thank you so much for your offer to help! I am just confused! I don't know what to do...what is going on! Frustrating! I would LOVE a second opinion!
Oh, and that's not bad parenting! Heck, wouldn't we all be so happy to curl u in our beds with a movie and popcorn? :)

I gave Donna my phone numbers. I could not find your email address. PLEASE call with question, even if it is just for what questions to ask your doctor. Take care of yourself!

Every mom needs some down time and I'm sure the kids loved the movies in bed!

About Monterey...I love it there. I have family that live near there and we just took a family vacation there last October. I make a list of my ideas and email them to you. How for you to go to CA!

I live about an hour and a half away from there and there is some fun things to do. There is the Monterrey Bay Aquarium if you like that sort of thing. There is Cannery Row and the Peir with fun shops and yummy restaurants. We also rented these canopy covered bike thingys(not sure of the official name of them) and rode around the area and the coast. If all else fails there is GREAT shopping there also! Hope these ideas helped you. My name is Linda by the way :)

Love the kids in their beds. I would love to do the same thing. Sometimes they just need a little down time. Both their rooms look adorable.

Despite their crabbiness, they still look pretty stinkin' cute! I hope tomorrow is better.

I hope you get lots of suggestions. You know I think Hurst Castle is a must see :)

What's scary is that it's just the BEGINNING of summer... Am I an optimist or what? NOT!!! I'm in the same boat, though. It was rainy (again) today, so we couldn't swim, go to the park, do the zoo, etc. By 8:15 tonight, my girls were hitting each other. Argh!!! I may just have to get portable DVD players! (AND seperate bedrooms!!!)

Look how innocent Alex looks. I just can't see what you are talking about!

Nothing wrong with a little quiet time. You were nice to add in the popcorn and a movie, my kids just get put in their rooms.

Every mom needs her down time! I think you had a pretty good idea. I would try that but we only have 1 portable DVD player - but then I could always hook the other child up with a DVD on laptop computer.

Near the Monterey Aquarium there are a bunch of outlets too so you'll get great deals! But Carmel and Carmel-by-the-Sea is beautiful and you'll love all of the shops! (Linda's friend - Holly)

I met with a physical therapist today. SOme spinal bones are out of alignement likely due to poor posture and they are pinching a nerve which is why my arm is killing me. Without drugs, I am in tears. This SUCKS! My e-mail is rbwurtz@yahoo.com. Anyway, I don't know if your hubby has any thoughts on it. All I know is I am just so mad at myself for not taking better care of myslef!

Thanks for your comment the other day. Sorry to hear about your stress fracture and slow recovery. I'm sure that has been frustrating. Hope you can run again sometime soon (with Dr. A-OK of course!)

I am so with you on the quiet time! It was an executive mommy decision, much needed by all parties, and they look like they enjoyed it!! :)

What did parents do before TV? :)
I know Southern California pretty well, but I'm pretty lost when it comes to Northern.
